For the video above, I <a href=\"http:\/\/ftisedtech.blogspot.com\/2017\/03\/app-smashing-with-green-screen-by-do.html?q=green+screen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">used a combination<\/a> of Superhero HD, a free download from a Creative Commons site, and Green Screen by Do Ink.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Some tools to get you started:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.doink.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Green Screen by Do Ink<\/a> &#8211; this is a paid app for iPhone and iPad. They have a nice selection of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/DoInkDev\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">How-To Videos av<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/DoInkDev\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ailable on YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/kb\/PH22929?locale=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iMovie<\/a> &#8211; check out the support guide from Apple that shows you how to use the green-screen or blue-screen effect. Need to see it in action?\u00a0 Check out a good how-to tutorial <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/B0Esc-OEtaw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>. You&#8217;ll see how to overlay, crop and &#8220;clean up&#8221; the footage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stikbot.toys\/stikbot-app-faq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stikbot<\/a> &#8211; this is a free download for creating stop action movies and has the option to use a green\/blue screen feature built in. <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/orUDlK8aO90\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">This video<\/a> will give you an idea of how it works.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wevideo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WeVideo<\/a> &#8211; check out their <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.wevideo.com\/news\/chroma-key\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blog for how to<\/a> use this tool<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-185 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kygoplay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Play-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"126\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kygoplay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Play-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kygoplay.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Play.jpg 712w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Play<\/h2>\n<p>Take some time to play with the green screen effect in a software of your choice.<\/p>\n<p>You might get really creative and try playing with Creative Common Licensed work.<\/p>\n<p>You can find stock video, as well as photos, to use in your green screen stories. You might look for different kinds of weather, animals, or pretty landscapes. I would strongly recommend that you assist students in locating this material.<\/p>\n<p>For stock video, in particular, it would be safest and most appropriate for the teacher to locate and download a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">creative commons<\/a>\u00a0video for students to use.\u00a0 You will find a list of sites to get free stock\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/makerbook.net\/video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">video in the video section of Makerbook<\/a>. To ensure good digital citizenship and ethical use of material, make sure you model appropriate use for students. We don&#8217;t want our students creating screen recordings of any old video on YouTube and using that in their productions. That&#8217;s a violation of copyright, even if they are students and it&#8217;s for educational use.<\/p>\n<p>I have had success with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.videvo.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Videvo<\/a>. That might be a good place to start. It does usually return paid &#8220;featured&#8221; videos first in search results, but if you keep scrolling you will see a place where you can download.<\/p>\n<p>For images, students typically just do a quick Google search with no thought to copyright. Model good digital citizenship by encouraging students to use services lik<a href=\"https:\/\/quest.eb.com\/failedlogin?target=%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">e Britannica Image Quest<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.photosforclass.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Photos for Class<\/a>. You might also check out\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/makerbook.net\/photography\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Makerbook&#8217;s Photography<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/makerbook.net\/photography\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0<\/a>collection of resources.
